How We Teach Social Casino Development Differently
FutureBitLab was founded in 2014 based on a simple observation: Most learning programs for social casino games focused on isolated skills. But real cross-platform integration? That was hardly addressed.
We wanted to change that. Not with big promises, but with a practical approach that relies on real projects.
Today, we work with participants who bring different backgrounds – some already have programming experience, others are starting from scratch. What connects them: They want to understand how social casino games truly work.
Our Development Over the Years
The Beginning
Leonhard Tannenberg and Anouk Pfeiffer met at a developer meetup in Berlin. Both had worked on social casino projects in different studios and quickly realized: The industry needed more people who understood cross-platform development. They started with a small workshop for eight participants in a rented office space.
Program Expansion
After three years and about 120 graduates, it became clear: The need was greater than expected. We developed a structured six-month curriculum that combined technical fundamentals with practical projects. The first cooperations with studios emerged, which took on our participants for internships.
Focus on Integration
The pandemic forced us to switch completely to remote teaching. That was initially a challenge, but we realized that practical exercises can also work well digitally. We expanded our platform and focused even more strongly on cross-platform scenarios – exactly what studios were looking for.
Today
Meanwhile, over 400 people have completed our programs. Not all of them work in the industry today, but many have found an entry point through us. We have learned to remain realistic – no course can guarantee where someone ends up. But we can convey tools and understanding that are actually needed.
How We Work
Project-Based Learning
We don't believe that casino development can only be learned from books. That's why all participants work on real projects – from simple slot mechanics to complex multi-platform systems.
The projects are structured so that they gradually become more complex. Someone who has never programmed starts with fundamentals. More experienced participants can dive deeper immediately.
- Understand and implement real casino mechanics
- Practically test cross-platform synchronization
- Code reviews and feedback from experienced developers
Technical Depth without Overwhelm
Cross-platform development sounds complicated. Sometimes it is. But we have learned to break down complex topics into digestible steps.
Our curriculum covers everything – from API design to state management to performance optimization. But not all at once. The sequence is well-thought-out.
- Convey technical concepts with practical examples
- Individual support for difficult topics
- Access to real development tools and frameworks
