Copyright & DMCA Policy

FutureBitLab respects intellectual property and complies with legal requirements for copyright protection

At FutureBitLab, we take the protection of intellectual property seriously. Our educational platform is based on original content that our team has developed – sometimes over months. So we know firsthand how important it is that work is respected.

This page explains how we handle copyright issues and what you can do if you believe your rights have been infringed. And should you wonder: Yes, we seriously review every notification.

Our Basic Stance on Copyright

We have developed clear principles that guide our work. First: All course materials, tutorials, and resources on futurebitlab.com are either created by us or we have acquired the corresponding rights of use. That sounds obvious, but in practice, it is sometimes more complicated than one thinks.

Second, we respond quickly to justified copyright complaints. If someone can prove that we inadvertently use protected material, we remove it immediately. In the last three years, we have had exactly two such cases – both were resolved within 48 hours.

And thirdly, we expect the same from others. If you use our materials without permission, we will take appropriate action.

How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act gives rights holders a clear path to act against copyright infringement. If you believe that content on our website infringes your rights, we require the following information from you:

  • An electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  • A detailed description of the copyrighted work that has been infringed – be as precise as possible here
  • The exact URL or location of the material on our website that should be removed
  • Your complete contact details: address, phone number, and email address
  • A statement that you, in good faith, believe that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
  • A sworn statement that the information in your notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder

Please note: False or malicious DMCA notifications can have legal consequences. We take such notifications very seriously and review every case thoroughly.

What Happens After Your Notification?

1

Receipt and Initial Review

Within 24 hours, we confirm the receipt of your notification via email. Our team first checks if all required information is available. If anything is missing, we will contact you.

2

Content Assessment

We thoroughly investigate the reported content. This means: We check if an infringement actually exists, examine possible fair-use aspects, and document everything carefully. This step usually takes 2-3 business days.

3

Action and Communication

In case of justified notifications, we remove the affected content immediately. You will receive a confirmation of the measures taken. If we classify the notification as unfounded, we will explain our assessment to you in detail.

Submitting a Counter-Notice

If your content was removed due to a DMCA notification and you believe this was done unfairly, you have the right to submit a counter-notice. This actually happens – sometimes there are misunderstandings or erroneous notifications.

Your counter-notice must contain the following elements: your physical or electronic signature, an identification of the removed material and the original location of storage, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed by mistake, as well as your complete contact details and consent to jurisdiction.

We forward your counter-notice to the person who submitted the original notification. If they do not file a lawsuit within 10-14 business days, we may restore the material.

Important Note on Fair Use: Not every use of copyrighted material automatically constitutes an infringement. In education, there is scope – for quotes, analyses, or transformative use, for example. We review each case individually.

If you are unsure whether a particular use is permissible, just contact us. We prefer to clarify things beforehand rather than afterwards.

Repeat Infringers

Users who repeatedly infringe copyrights lose their access to our platform. That sounds harsh, but it is necessary. So far, we have only had to take this measure once – with someone who systematically shared protected materials.

We believe in second chances, especially if an infringement happens accidentally. But from the third confirmed infringement, we must act. This is not only legally required but also fair to all others who adhere to the rules.
